Ingredients
INGREDIENTS
-16 ounces tofu, drained

MARINADE
-1 tablespoon sesame oil

-1/4 cup soy sauce

-1 tablespoon rice vinegar

-2 tablespoons brown sugar

-3 tablespoons orange juice

-2 tablespoons shallot, minced

-1 teaspoon ginger, minced

-1 tablespoon garlic, minced

-Zest of 1 orange

-1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

OPTIONAL
-2 tablespoons grapeseed oil for searing

Preparation Method

  1. Combine all of the marinade ingredients.
  2. Place the tofu and marinade into a vacuum bag.
  3. Seal the bag on vacuum level 3.
  4. Allow to marinate for 2-4 hours or overnight, if desired.

 

SUGGESTED COOKING METHOD 

  1. Remove the tofu from the vacuum seal bag, discard any excess marinade, and pat dry. 
  2. Slice the tofu into pieces of the desired size. 
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. 
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil and sear the tofu for 3-5 minutes per side. 
  5. Remove the tofu from the pan and drain briefly on a paper towel.
